Synthesis of Orbital Angular Momentum Antennas for Target Localization

Abstract The exploitation of Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) is proposed to design circular‐support continuous aperture distributions and concentric‐ring arrays for target‐localization applications. approach allows generating a single isolated null the field in target direction, which interest with respect common techniques leading line (or perpendicular lines) power‐pattern zeroes spectral plane. In presented procedure, optimal source first identified by resorting most suitable OAM vortex effective tools such as Singular Value Decomposition involved operator smart Convex Programming optimization. Then, exploiting fast deterministic algorithms, this discretized into circular‐ring emulating it at best. Relevant applications including equispaced arrays, sum‐difference reconfigurable isophoric sparse are presented. also compared state‐of‐the‐art assessed through full‐wave electromagnetic simulations.
